History

Chonburi Technological College occupies an area of 22 rai, 2 ngan, and 73 square wah (approximately 3.6 hectares or 8.9 acres). It is located at 80/90 Moo 3, Sukhumvit Road, Samet Sub-district, Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi Province. The college's licensee, Dr. Uraiwan Tanprakas, established the institution with the vision of producing a skilled workforce to meet the demands of the business and industrial sectors. This was also to support the industrial growth in line with Thailand's Eastern Seaboard Development Program.
1983
The college was selected as an Outstanding Private Vocational Institution by the Office of the Private Education Commission.
1984
In its first academic year, the college enrolled 238 students at the Vocational Certificate level, offering programs in two main fields: Industrial Trades and Commerce. The Industrial Trades program provided majors in Electrical Power and Automotive Mechanics, while the Commerce program offered specializations in Accounting, Sales, and Secretarial Studies. To support these programs, the campus facilities consisted of a four-story academic building, a practical workshop for electrical and automotive training, and a workshop for basic technical skills. To ensure a high standard of education from the outset, the college invited faculty from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North Bangkok to serve as advisors for its Industrial Trades program.

1987

There was a change in the administrative structure, with Mr. Kittisak Srichawana being appointed as Headmaster, and Dr. Uraiwan Tanprakas assuming the positions of Licensee and Manager.

1988

The program was expanded to include the Higher Vocational Certificate in Commerce.

1991

The curriculum for the Vocational Certificate level was changed from the one provided by the Department of Vocational Education to the one developed by Rajamangala Institute of Technology.

1993

There was a change in management as Ms. Wanna Tanprakas was appointed as the Director, replacing Mr. Kittisak Srichawana, who assumed the position of Director of the Administrative Office.

1994

A four-story reinforced concrete building was constructed, containing 16 classrooms, to serve as the academic building for the Department of Industrial Trades.

1996

An extension building was constructed for the Department of Business Administration. The four-story building contains 8 classrooms and 2 practical laboratories.

1997

The curriculum was expanded to offer the Higher Vocational Certificate in Automotive Technology.

2002

A two-story concrete building was constructed to house offices and conference rooms.

2004

School Landscape Improvements: 1. The 'Urorawanawana' Recycled Sculpture Garden was created, established by Phra Sathapana Phuttirangso to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 72nd birthday anniversary. 2. The Vishnu shrine was relocated to its new permanent site in the garden in front of the Faculty of Business Administration building. 3. The multi-purpose auditorium was fully renovated with the installation of air conditioning and was renamed 'Leelawadee Hall'.

2005

The curriculum for the Tourism Industry program was expanded to include: 1. Vocational Certificate level (PWS), with a major in Hotel and Tourism Management. 2. Higher Vocational Certificate level (PWS.), with a major in Hotel Management and Services.

2006

The curriculum was expanded to offer a Higher Vocational Certificate in Human Resource Management, and a standard-sized swimming pool was constructed at a cost of 6,500,000 baht.

2007

The academic programs underwent a significant expansion across multiple levels. At the Vocational Certificate level, a new major in Retail Business was added to the Commerce program. The Higher Vocational Certificate program was also broadened to include new majors in Retail Business Management and General Management within the Business Administration program, as well as a major in Industrial Techniques under the Industrial program. In recognition of this major development and its overall excellence, the college was selected by the Ministry of Education to receive the prestigious Royal Award as an Outstanding Large-Sized Vocational Institution.

2008

The curriculum was expanded to offer the Higher Vocational Certificate in two new fields: Logistics Management (under the Business Administration program) and Information Technology (under the Information and Communication Technology program). Additionally, a multi-purpose sports stadium was constructed at a cost of 6,800,000 baht.

2009

A workshop building for electric and gas welding was constructed for the Department of Basic Techniques, along with a separate practical training building for electrical installation.

2010

For the second time, the college was selected by the Ministry of Education to receive the prestigious Royal Award as an Outstanding Large-Sized Vocational Institution.

2011

Improvements were made to the parking facilities for students' cars and motorcycles.

2012

A new cafeteria was constructed

2013

The institution adopted the Vocational Certificate Curriculum, Buddhist Era 2556 (A.D. 2013).

2016

The college received a National Skill Standard Testing license (License No. ChB.012/2559) and established the 'Chonburi Technological College National Skill Standard Testing Center.' Subsequently, the center was authorized to conduct National Skill Standard Tests in two additional occupations: Mechanical Drafting with Computer (Level 1) and Electronics Technician (Television) (Level 1).

2017

The college was awarded the National Gold Medal in the 'One School, One Innovation' competition by the Teachers' Council of Thailand for the project titled, 'An Integrated Vocational Education Management Model for the Eastern Economic Corridor in Chonburi Province.'

2018

The college was awarded the National Gold Medal in the 'One School, One Innovation' competition by the Teachers' Council of Thailand for the project titled, 'A Model for the Development of a Dual-Vocational Curriculum in Rail Transport Systems to Support the Eastern Economic Corridor in Chonburi Province.'

2019

The college was awarded the National Gold Medal in the 'One School, One Innovation' competition for the year 2019 by the Teachers' Council of Thailand. The award was for the project titled, 'A Model for the Development of Curriculum and Instruction for Continuous Basic Education, Linking to Vocational Education to Support the Eastern Economic Corridor.' Received the 'Award for an Institution with an Outstanding Program Plan' from the Student Loan Fund (SLF).

พ.ศ. 2563

The college received the Regional Gold Medal and the National Silver Medal in the 'One School, One Innovation' competition from the Teachers' Council of Thailand. The awards were for the project titled, 'The Development of a Curriculum and Learning Model for Vocational Skills, Connecting Basic and Vocational Education to Support the Eastern Economic Corridor.'

พ.ศ. 2564

Received the 'Regional' Silver Medal in the 'One School, One Innovation' selection for the year 2021 from the Office of the Teachers' Council of Thailand Secretariat. The award was for the project titled, 'A Management Model for Turning Crisis into Opportunity in Blended Vocational Learning Under the New Normal.'

Won the Royal Trophy from Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi in the Anti-Drug PowerPoint Media Contest, held to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of National Youth Day.

Was selected for the 'Royal Award for an Outstanding Institution' in the Large-Sized, Vocational Education Category (1st time).

Received the Royal Award for Students at the Vocational Certificate (PWS.) Level.
