• Chonburi Technical College covers an area of 22 rai, 2 ngan, and 73 square wah. It is located at 80/90 Moo 3, Sukhumvit Road, Samet Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi Province. It was established under the license of Dr. Uraiwan Tanprakassorn, with the vision of producing skilled manpower to meet the needs of business and industry, and to support industrial development as part of the Eastern Seaboard Development Project.
• In 1984 (B.E. 2527), the first academic year commenced, offering two fields at the Vocational Certificate level: 1) Industrial technician with two specializations – Power Electrician and Automotive Technician; and 2) Commercial studies with three specializations – Accounting, Sales, and Secretary. There were three buildings: a four-story academic building, an electrical–mechanical workshop, and a basic technical training facility. The inaugural class included 238 students. Faculty from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok were invited to instruct in industrial techniques.
• In 1987 (B.E. 2530), administrative adjustments were made: Mr. Kittisak Srichuana was appointed Principal, and Dr. Uraiwan Tanprakassorn continued as Licensee and Manager.
• In 1988 (B.E. 2531), the college expanded its program offerings to include the Higher Vocational Certificate in Commerce.
• In 1991 (B.E. 2534), the curriculum was transitioned from the Department of Vocational Education’s certificate to the standards of Rajamangala Institute of Technology.
• In 1993 (B.E. 2536), leadership transitioned again: Ms. Wanna Tanprakassorn was appointed Director, replacing Mr. Kittisak Srichuana, who became Director of the Administrative Office.
• In 1994 (B.E. 2537), a new four‑story reinforced concrete building with 16 classrooms was erected for the Industrial Technology department.
• In 1996 (B.E. 2539), an extension to the Business Administration department was built: a four‑story structure housing eight classrooms and two laboratories.
• In 1997 (B.E. 2540), the Higher Vocational Certificate program in Automotive Technology was introduced.
• In 2002 (B.E. 2545), a two‑story concrete building was constructed to serve as the administrative office and meeting hall.
• In 2004 (B.E. 2547), the campus landscape was renovated:
1. A recycled sculpture garden named “Uroranawana” was created to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen’s 72nd birthday, designed by the artist Putthirangso.
2. The Vishnu statue was relocated to the garden in front of the Business Administration building.
3. The multipurpose hall was renovated, air-conditioned, and renamed “Leelawadee Auditorium.”
• In 2005 (B.E. 2548), programs in the tourism and hospitality industry were introduced:
1. Vocational Certificate in Hotel and Tourism.
2. Higher Vocational Certificate in Hotel and Hospitality Services.
• In 2006 (B.E. 2549), Higher Vocational Certificate programs in Management and Human Resource Management were expanded, and a standard swimming pool worth 6,500,000 THB was constructed.
• In 2007 (B.E. 2550), the college expanded vocational and higher vocational programs: 1) Business Administration – Retail Management; 2) Business Administration – General Management; 3) Industrial Technology – Industrial Production; 4) Industrial Technology – Technical Industry. Additionally, it was selected by the Ministry of Education as a recipient of the Royal Award for Outstanding Large Vocational Institution.
• In 2008 (B.E. 2551), additional Higher Vocational Certificate programs were launched: 1) Business Administration – Logistics Management; 2) ICT (Information and Communication Technology). A multipurpose sports facility worth 6,800,000 THB was also constructed.
• In 2009 (B.E. 2552), two new workshop buildings were built: one for electric–gas welding under Basic Technical Training, and another for electrical installation.
• In 2010 (B.E. 2553), the college received the Royal Award for Outstanding Large Vocational Institution for the second time.
• In 2011 (B.E. 2554), the parking areas for students and motorcycles were renovated.
• In 2012 (B.E. 2555), a new cafeteria was constructed.
• In 2013 (B.E. 2556), the 2013 Vocational Certificate Curriculum was implemented.
• In 2016 (B.E. 2559):
1. The college received License No. CB.012/2559 to conduct the National Skill Standard Tests, officially named the “Chonburi Technical College National Skill Testing Center.”
2. Authorization was granted to operate two additional national skill testing programs: Mechanical CAD Technician Level 1 and Electronics (Television) Technician Level 1.
• In 2017 (B.E. 2560), the college won a national gold medal in the “One School, One Innovation” competition for the project “Integrated Vocational Education Management under the Eastern Special Economic Corridor, Chonburi,” awarded by the Teachers’ Council.
• In 2018 (B.E. 2561), another national gold medal was awarded in the same competition for the project “Development of Vocational Curriculum for Railway Transport System Supporting the Eastern Economic Corridor, Chonburi.”
• In 2019 (B.E. 2562), the college received the national gold medal for “One School, One Innovation 2019” for the project “Development of Continued Vocational Curriculum Linking Basic Education to Vocational Education Supporting the Eastern Special Development Zone,” granted by the Teachers’ Council.
• Also in 2019, the college was honored as an “Outstanding Project Institution” by the Student Loan Fund (SLF).
• In 2020 (B.E. 2563), the college received the regional gold and national silver medals in “One School, One Innovation” for the project “Development of Vocational Curriculum and Learning Model Linking Basic Education to Vocational Education Supporting the Eastern Special Development Zone,” awarded by the Teachers’ Council.
• In 2021 (B.E. 2564), the college won the regional silver medal in “One School, One Innovation” for the project “Transforming Crisis into Opportunities: Integrated Vocational Learning Management under the New Normal,” awarded by the Teachers’ Council.
